The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) announced today that Accurist Watches Limited, the London-based watch manufacturer, has achieved certification by meeting the highest ethical, social and environmental standards established by the RJC’s Member Certification system.
“RJC warmly congratulates Accurist Watches Limited on its certification. The successful verification assessment was conducted by Peter Warbrick of SGS, one of the independent third-party auditing firms accredited to the RJC’s Member Certification system,” says Michael Rae, RJC’s Chief Executive Officer.
“Ever since Accurist was founded in 1946, we have been driven by the values of quality, reliability and honesty. These values apply not only to the products that bear our name, but also to the way we operate. Our decision to apply for membership of the Responsible Jewellery Council was based on our mutual and shared beliefs in ethical sourcing as well as the importance of open and accountable working practices. Accurist prides itself on good corporate citizenship and is delighted to become the first British watch company with RJC certification,” says Andrew Loftus, Managing Director, Accurist Watches Limited.
